Welcome to the 3rd Students Cup Pro-Am 2014.

This year again my aim of this event is to give all my students and their golfing friends, colleagues and business associates a chance to compete against each other and also have the chance to experience playing with a member of the JLPGA in a teams and individual format.
Event Details
  • DATE: Friday November 14th 2014
    Check-in: 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. (First tee time is 8:30am from both the 1st & the 10th tees). Party & awards presentation planning for a 3:30pm start.
  • VENUE: The Aqualine Golf Club, Chiba
 Competition format:

Team best ball (Pros to be included as a team member) to run concurrently with an individual event for best gross and best net scores.

PLEASE NOTE: # Team Best Ball (Pros to be included as a team member) Special rule: each player from each group must their gross hole score at least two out of the 18 hole event. 

The handicap system that i am intending to use is called the Scheid handicap system (click link for details http://www.myscorecard.com/cgi-bin/knowledgecenter.pl?mode=article&category=golf_handicap&file=scheid&article=The-Scheid-System).
Registration & Fees: - 31,000円 per person

You can register as a single player or you can form your own group of 3 players to join with one professional from the JLPGA members to complete the group.

Closing date for entries and payment is October 31st

General Information

 Please find the entry fee payment procedures below.
ENTRY FEE
  • Entry Fee: 31,000円 per person. - - -    Price includes: 18hole green fee, competition fee, chance to win Trophies and prizes lunch & party. (Drinks not included, based on a pay as go policy).                                                                     
  • ENTRY FEE PAYMENT DEADLINE: to secure your place in the field payments must be received by OCTOBER 31st.
  • Cancellations: If you have to cancel after the deadline of OCTOBER 31st. , please find a replacement / substitute, as there will be no refunds after the deadline.
  • Rain: We will play in the rain. In the event of a heavy rain storm or potential course closure please call the golf course or Tom Fielding: 090-6709 1728, to determine if the tournament has been cancelled or postponed

Best Ball competition - Definition.

Best ball can be played using 2-, 3- or 4-person teams. Each player on the team plays his or her own golf ball throughout the round, and on each hole the low score - or "best ball" - of the group serves as the team score. For example: On the first hole, Player A gets a 5, B gets a 4, C gets a 6, D gets a 6, so the team score for that hole is 4, because the low score of the group was B's 4.

Best ball is usually played as stroke play with the total score added up at the end of the round. It can be played as match play, but best-ball match play with more than 2-person teams results in a lot of halved holes.

INFORMATION REGARDING THE DAY OF THE EVENT
**Registration:
After dropping off your clubs at the bag-drop, please park your car and go to the clubhouse for registration and further instructions.
**Attire:
Please wear collared shirts on the golf course. Only soft spike shoes are allowed on the course. Jackets are required for the Party and awards presentation.

**Locker Rooms:
Lockers are available, please ask at the golf club's check in reception.
**Practice Areas:
Putting greens and driving range will open at 7:00 A.M. Please ask at the front reception for range ball tokens

**Cell Phones:
Please use your discretion when in the clubhouse and when out on the golf course.

**Scoring Procedure:
  • Stroke and Handicap event:
Count all your shots and in the event that your score is equal to double the par +1 and have yet to hole out on any given hole, please pick up your ball a walk with your group to the green and continue play from the next tee as normal.
  • Foursomes event
Each foursome will play as a team. The teams event is a FOUR BALL format, i.e. the best score from the team become the team score for each hole. The low team gross score is the team’s event champion.
**Tees:
The competition tees are WHITE for the men (back tees are optional). Women use the red tees.
